Sketch Simply’s launch

Thanks for popping by to check out my blog!

I’ll be posting updates on projects/ideas that I’ve been working on or plan to release.

This blog post is to announce the launch of my business and why I chose this path.

A lot of the inspiration for creating books (one thing I didn’t think I would want to do, I just liked drawing) is from this (my) derpy bird Peter.

Pepper is a 30+ year old Congo African Grey I adopted in 2017. I found out Peter (Aka Pepper) is a female. Let’s just say she laid an egg after about a year after we adopted her. So I came up with name The Red Tail Pepper. I’ve always loved animals and I heard this cutie needing a home so here she is!

Having a bird is definitely interesting and quite different from owning a dog. I had a dog for 14 years, his name was Skippy. Pepper and Skippy did meet and man was Skip jealous (spoiled dog ). He would chase his tail when we would talk to Pepper but he was interested in her.

After Skippy passed I just had Pepper, and she warmed up more and more over the years. She started to make little noises, say her name, etc so her personality was really starting to form. This gave me the inspiration to create her an instagram. I liked making videos, artwork, and posting her sassy-self. Next, my parents and I adopted another bird Chris.

I’ll write a separate blog about these two cuties later.

While attending Full Sail University for a Digital Marketing Certificate, I had a class about storytelling in marketing. For my final project, I was to write a story based on the 12 steps of the Hero’s Journey. It was super fun and I ended up writing a whole story. My teacher loved it and recommended I make it into a children’s book. *so I guess that’s the announcement*

I will soon be releasing a children’s book where I turn into a bird and go on an adventure with some animals. I think you’ll all enjoy it!

For now, enjoy some art and tutorials until I get everything together!

Thanks for reading!
