December: Boba Studios
This month we’re featuring an incredible small business, Boba Studios. They are an indie game studio based in Baltimore, Maryland. I met some of the incredible team members at the Too Many Games Convention in 2022. Founded by women, this studio is dedicated to using games as a powerful medium to tell stories that resonate with underrepresented voices.
Having some experience in game development and design, I wanted to share their story and talk more about how inspiring the gaming community is.
Here’s the games description- When scorned chameleons swap the colors of all other animals, causing mass confusion and upset, Squirrely Roo, a hybrid animal, springs into action with her chameleon-outcast friend, Cammie, to track down the chameleon king and return peace to the world. Powered by fruit, Squirrely Roo and Cammie explore new lands and solve their puzzles!

Boba Studios is an awesome example of how games can be used to tell important stories and create a more inclusive gaming community. By supporting their work, we can all contribute to a future where games truly reflect the diversity of the world around us.
