Solly Stables

We’re excited for this month’s feature! We’re big animal lovers here at Sketch Simply, so we thought this Non-Profit would fit right in with our community!

Solly Stables Cow Clinic September 2022

This Non-Profit provides affordable riding lessons for children and adults. They are located in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia, so you don’t have to drive far to learn about these amazing horses.

At Solly Stables, you’ll learn that horses are more than just big dogs! They’re intelligent and hard working!

Horses are amazing teachers. During a riding lesson, you become one with the horse!

You don’t just tell the horse to go, and they start walking (although many are very smart and are trained to) There is important equipment you must learn to use so you don’t hurt them. Horses wear a bridle, included in a bridle are a bit (a metal piece that goes in the horse's mouth) and reins. These two parts of the bridle are important because they allow you to steer the horse in the direction you want them to go. If you pull too hard you can hurt the horse. Some bridles will have other parts so it’s crucial to learn about the bridle you put on your horse. *Note that not all bridles have a bit.

You’ll also learn more about what equipment you use to sit on the horse, to make sure both horse and rider are comfortable. Check out Tess in her Tack!
Solly Stables shows you the before, during, and after the ride so you can learn real horsemanship skills to have a better relationship with the horse you ride.

Horseback riding fosters responsibility, discipline, and a strong work ethic in young riders.

You can also make friends and learn together in group lessons.

They also have fun events like Open House, Spring Extravaganza Solloween, and Pictures with Santa and a Horse!

Here’s Pepper with Oakley during their Solloween event 2024!

Help us support this amazing organization and help them continue to bring the joy of horseback riding to our community!
